The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has disclosed that it has distributed over $800 million in royalties to its members and clients, and has collected close to $1bn in mechanical royalties in the 18 months since its launch on January 1, 2021.

The figures were unveiled by the Nashville-based collective management organisation during its second Annual Membership Meeting this week.
